Mushroom Casserole

1 lb. whole mushrooms, stems removed
(I used slices)
1/4 lb. butter or oleo
2 tblsp flour
1/2 cup half & half (I just used milk)
1/3 cup beef or chicken stock
dash pepper
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
paprika to taste
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Arrange mushrooms, stem side down, in buttered 1 1/2 quart casserole. (Just throw the mushrooms in)

Melt butter in skillet and blend in flour. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Pour in cream and bring to boil. Mix in stock and pepper and return to boil. Pour over mushrooms and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Dust with paprika. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with parmesan and return to oven till cheese melts.
